Jubal is an AI associate for your firm that runs on each attorney's desktop over matters the whole firm shares. You add a matter's files and it reads and indexes every one — full text plus structure plus cross-references. Then you can ask it questions across the matter, draft new documents in your firm's voice, surface inconsistencies in deposition transcripts, and check contracts against your playbook. Every answer cites the documents it came from. Documents live encrypted in Jubal's own firm- and matter-scoped storage, mirrored to each attorney's machine for local work, and model requests travel through Jubal's private gateway to providers Jubal configures not to train on them; the subprocessor list says which have written no-training terms on file.
Mac and Windows at launch. Linux is on the roadmap but not committed yet. If Linux is critical for your firm, tell us in your trial request — it changes our priority.
Partly. Once a matter is open on your desktop, its working copy is on your machine, so reading the file does not need a round-trip. Asking Jubal, drafting, and keeping the matter in sync with the rest of your firm need a network connection, because the shared matter record and the model calls live in Jubal's cloud. We are looking at offline drafting with local models for the firms that need it; for now, treat Jubal as a connected desktop app.
Yes. Each attorney runs Jubal on their own machine, and every matter is shared by the firm: the cloud record is the source of truth, each desktop mirrors it, and access is scoped to the seats your firm authorizes — encrypted in transit and at rest. Matters can stay linked to the folders on your office drive (network drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, NetDocuments) so the case file keeps itself current, and anyone on the team can review the same matters at jubal.law in a browser without installing anything.
Not yet. Anyone on the team can open and review matters at jubal.law in a phone browser; drafting and analysis are in the desktop app.

4 questionsTrust and ethics
In Jubal's own cloud storage — Amazon S3 in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit, under keys scoped to your firm and to each matter — with a working copy mirrored to each attorney's desktop so Jubal's agent can read and draft against it locally. Nothing is chunked into a vendor-hosted vector database, and we never use your matters to train any model. When you ask a question, the request goes through Jubal's private model gateway, in Jubal's own AWS account, to the model provider, which Jubal configures not to train on your work. Purge a matter and it is deleted from Jubal's live systems; encrypted backups expire within 12 months. The /security page goes into the architecture in detail.
Yes — the architecture is built for it. Your documents are stored encrypted in Jubal's own cloud storage, scoped to your firm and to each matter — never in a vendor vector database. Content is encrypted in transit and at rest; model providers are configured not to train on your work; access is scoped to your firm and to each matter and enforced on the server, not just in the prompt; privilege-relevant actions are audit-logged in your firm's audit trail. We follow the published ethics opinions across the major state bars and designed Jubal with them in mind; how they apply to your practice remains your professional judgment. Encrypted, firm- and matter-scoped storage in Jubal's own account, no-training model posture, citation-grounded outputs, and explicit human-in-the-loop drafting are direct responses to the ethics-opinion landscape. We are putting together a public roundup of the relevant opinions; ask us in your trial request if you need it for your jurisdiction.
Most. The provisions that trip up other legal AI tools — no training on client data, privileged documents held in Jubal's own encrypted storage rather than a third-party vector database, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logs, a hard-delete purge — are all baseline for Jubal, and every subprocessor is named publicly at jubal.law/legal/subprocessors. Yes. Request a free trial and we review every request personally. Once yours is approved we'll email you, and the 10 days start the first time you sign in. The trial runs on the Pro plan for up to 3 people and 3 matters, with no credit card — nothing is charged unless you add one. You can buy a plan from Billing any time, during the trial or after it.
Pricing is published: transparent per-seat plans at $295 (Pro) and $495 (Max) per month, each with a monthly AI work allowance included — see the Pricing page. Free seats (view only, no AI) cost nothing.
No. Plans are month to month, with no annual contract: cancel any time, and it takes effect at the end of the billing period. Prefer to pay for a year? A prepaid year is 10% off.
A person reads every request — we're looking for fit, not prestige. The few questions after you sign in tell us your firm's size, practice areas, current AI tools, and the work you'd most like an AI associate to take off your plate, so a complete profile helps us approve quickly. When your trial is approved, we email you; sign in and your 10 days begin.

Jubal is built by a small team of software engineers and lawyers. Co-designed with a 40-year law firm we've worked with for three decades — they sit in our standups and use what we ship before anyone else does. The Jubal corp entity and the partner firm are separate businesses with a strict data wall between them; their value is craft and judgment, not access to other firms' work.
Our partner firm is BocaLaw.com, a 40-year practice in Boca Raton. Ken Ronan is our principal there and a co-designer of the product. We've worked with Ken and BocaLaw.com for thirty years across other projects; Jubal is the one we built together. The Jubal corp entity and BocaLaw.com are separate businesses with a strict data wall between them — their value to Jubal is craft and judgment, never access to other firms' work.
We share funding details with customer firms on request. The headline: Jubal is funded with the long-term commitment to always serve solo and midsize firms, alongside larger firms that want the same tool. The structure of the company reflects that commitment.
United States. Engineering and partner-firm offices are both US-based. Documents are stored in the United States. International expansion is on the roadmap; for v1, we are an American product for American firms.
